Driving in Ireland (aka the roads of death)

Hullo all,
Blaine and I are safely in Ireland. We thought we'd duck into this internet cafe to take a break from driving and let everyone know we were here ok.

We got into Shannon at about 9 this morning, and set off for Tralee to watch the St. Patrick's Day Parade there. "St. Patrick" presided over the parade and announced the different groups. In addition to girl scouts, boy scouts, firefighters, and etc., we saw Bob the Builder and the Tellitubbies. :)

After catching lunch in Tralee we set out to drive around the Dingle Penninsula. That's were the driving got a little scary. First of all, the roads are very narrow. Then (as we drove up further through a mountain pass) it got foggy--and of course there was a huge drop off on one side of us too! But, we're out of the worst of it now I think and safely on some lower ground. We're in the town of Dingle right now. We're going to finish driving around the penninsula and then head for Kilarney to stay the night. Tomorrow we're going to Killarney National Park, to Blarney Castle, and maybe to the Waterford Crystal factory if we make it that far.

More to come ....
