1. Open the blog in your internet browser (Internet Explorer). The link is here:Family News
2. The first page you come to is the "home" page. This is where topics are posted. Below each topic is the time at which it was posted, and a number followed by comments. Clicking on the comments link will take you to what people have posted under that topic.
To Post a Topic
To post a topic first you have to be a member of the blog. People that are members are listed under the Contributers heading on the left hand side of the page.
If you would like to be a contributer, I have to send you an invitation to join the blog. When you recieve the invitation, you must go through all the steps and sign up with this service. Please let me know if you would like to recieve an invitation!
Posting a Topic: (if you are already a member of the blog)
1. At the top of the home page there are a number of links. The first is a B logo and the word Blogger, a text bar and a search button, and then immediately next to that is BlogThis! Click on this button.
2. A smaller box will pop up on your browser. It will have the Blogger logo in the left hand corner, a drop down menu that says Family News (the name of the blog you want to post a topic to), and then a series of Microsoft Word type buttons like spell check, Bold, and Italics. There is also a Title field, which automatically populates with the name of the blog. In this case, Family News. This can be deleted and you can rename your post anything you want.
3. Below the title field is a large text field, with a H ref HTML code as the first words. This is just a link to the home page of the blog. You can delete this as well if you wish.
4. Type your message in the large text field. As much or as little as you want. When you are finished, there are two buttons on the top right hand of the small screen: Save as Draft and Publish. Click on the Publish button.
5. Your message will be posted as the very first (most recent) Topic on the blog Home page.
TIP: It is a little easier to navigate through the Topics by using the archive links on the left side of the screen. These allow you to search the Topics by date. Just a tip.
Please let me know if these were or were not helpful. Thanks!
